She has never had a seizure before. Can the pregnancy contribute or cause this?

it depends is the short answer. One can have a seizure because of other disease states; infection, stroke, and heart attack. It's important to get it looked into, ASAP. High blood pressure can cause a seizure. In pregnant women it's a syndrome called preeclampsia and needs to be addressed right away. I would call the OB's office, they have someone on call 24/7

Yes. Pregnancy can cause extremely severe problems. Make sure she has continued and competent medical care.

Sounds like she may be diabetic. It could of been an allergy attack perhaps.
Could be the foods she ate, Get her on a diet like total cereal.

Maybe or it trigger a preexisting condition. Hope she went straight to the ER.
