they do get treatment in prison, along with food, cable, computers & schooling.
Also, $1,200 a year is nothing compared being mugged , raped, beaten etc... price doesn't bother me a bit.
If you are so concerned, turn your apartment into a half-way house, as an alternative to prison. Let us know how it goes
cheers :)

No it isn't effective to lock drug abusers up in prison without no treatment. Clinical tests have proved over and over again that with no detox treatment for drug abusers will allow them to be continued users out of prison.
The only solution I say for this is a very good drug detox program in prison, lasting their sentence and continuing to last outside of the facility.

It is not cost effective to lock them up repeatedly. I also don't think it's cost effective to pay for their rehab! Most of these people don't want to change and no amount of rehab or prison terms will ever change their mentality. These are the sad but true facts!

I hear what your saying but, You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Those hooked on Drugs can only kick there problems if they want to. What I'm trying to say is if they truly wanna quit THEY will have to be the ones to make the first move. YES treatment should be made available to them but they should have to WANT it rather than it being forced on them.

You did no longer furnish the address or URL you noted. besides the indisputable fact that that's nonetheless a genuine good guess that that's based upon somebody's loose number of oddities, somewhat than any valid study. And spare us approximately sellers being non-violent. that's not a mom & pop enterprise down on the corner. human beings attempt to tear off sellers perpetually, and sellers are arranged for it. And different sellers attempt to muscle in on territory, so sellers are arranged for THAT, too. So, because you're so worried appropriate to the adverse, helpless sellers in penal complex, why do no longer you prepare for conjugal visitation with them to take their minds off their suffering?

They shouldn't be going to jail for using drugs. How unamerican is that?
It doesnt hurt you if I smoke crack, inject heroin and then smoke a fatty bowl of pot before I go to bed. Thats my problem.
Besides, the war on drugs CAUSES the problems people associate with drugs.

Ok, I agree they should recieve treatment but how many times?? Until they finally get clean, I don't think so, just like alcoholics they need to hit their bottom in order to WANT to get clean. One who knows, a former member of alanon or however you spell it they helped me deal with my mothers drinking problem and its called detaching with love, it was very difficult to see it but, she finally hit bottom and has been sober for over 20 years now.

one dose of Ibogaine will cure heroin addiction and cravings for up to 6 months. it's big in Europe, but not in U.S. because DuPont would lose $ selling methadone.it's always about the $ .in some native American tribes , if you broke a tribal rule , they forced you to smoke a massive amount of pot until you saw the error of your ways.

One solution is the 3 strikes you're out. But I wish we would actually put them out not just away.
