Not sure about a frog but the toad is not really a toad - it got 4 legs and runs / or walks it doesn't jump like a frog - I used to play with them when I was a kid - so much fun

Horned Frogs
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
The horned frogs of the genus Ceratophrys, in some forms, are beautifully adomed and highly aggressive creatures. Some grow to a length of eight inches and have an immense body bulk. All of the horned frogs have enormous mouths and are highly predatory, the food of some consisting almost solely of other frogs. Large specimens will attack anything which threatens them. They can inflict painful bites, holding on with bulldog tenacity. Even the tadpoles of the horned frogs are highly carnivorous.
Some species of horned frogs are small, but several grow to huge size and have beauti- fully blended coloring of reds, tans, browns, greens, and blacks. On the jungle floor, among leaves and debris, they can hardly be seen. They move about little, preferring to lie in ambush for the unwary snakes, lizards, mice, and other vertebrates which come within range of their powerful jaws.
The "horn" of the horned frogs is a curious triangular prolongation of the edge of the upper eyelid. It is not hard or sharp, as it is only a flap of skin, but perhaps it makes the wide head appear even wider and therefore less acceptable to the forest creatures that would normally dine on these frogs.

Horned Lizards protect themselves in a variety of ways. Their body is spikey and flat, so when started they usually will flatten out and sit really still so as to hopefully not be seen. If this doesnt work, they have also been known to inflate their body and hiss a lot, and in extreme cases, they can even squirt blood from their eyeballs to attack predators! In the 100th Anniversary Edition of Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Reptiles Lizards and Prehistoric Beasts, published in 1994, it states that Horned Lizards can squirt blood from their eye as far as 5 feet!

one is a frog the other is a toad------------the toad can live out of water while the frog needs water although he can go on land.Love it when I see a toad in my yard for know it'll eat very many mosquitoes.Frogs spend most of their lives very near water while the toad ventures much farther, frogs have wet slimy feel to their skin but toads are dry and bumpy-the main difference.

No difference, just depends on what they are called in your neck of the woods. The proper name is Texas horned lizard.
