I need to get good on the snare drum.?

My left hand is weak and I need to get good so I can play on my school's drumline. All I have to practice on is a drum practice pad. Besides getting tutor what techniques can I used to get better?

Practice your rudiments over and over never ending practice is what it takes,put your right hand behind your back and use the left in your practice sessions for a few months till the strength and sound are the same as the right!I played drums 40 years!

spend more time at it. Practice practice, practice.
