Nope. i was on of the ones who promised and did everything I could to get into trouble. So I know first hand that teenagers are liars. I would make my kid stay home and lock all the windows, doors, turn on the security system to go off if a door or a window was opened. If they were opened and he/she tried to sneak out, they would be grounded for six months. I know, hypocritical, but I did some things I am now not happy about. I don't my children to make the same mistakes.

No way. If you did, if anything did happen, then you would feel so guilty for the rest of the time it affected either of you. And, if YOU are the teenager in question, don't be too hard on your parents. They really do have your best interests at heart, even if it doesn't feel like it. Trust me, I've been there.

HELL NO!!!
If my child "wanted" to go to a party that I knew that she would get in trouble at I wouldn't care how much he "swore" that he wouldn't. I'd tell him to pick up a dictionary, and learn how to spell first...

im a teenager and i would trust my daughter. We learn from our mistakes. Hearing you talk about the dangers of drinking and smoking mean nothing to us until we know someone who got addicted or something. Let her go and if she gets in trouble dont let her get away with it.... easy as that.
