Post the words every where you can look in a day (on the wall next to the television, in the bathroom...) and look at the words while at the same time thinking about what they mean and how you can use them. Then when you speak to others use them in your speech after you understand what they mean.

I see that everyone has already suggested flashcards, as I was going to do. I also suggest though that you break the cards down into groups of 10. Learn 10 and then add 10 more. Review the first 10 while you are learning the next set, and so on.
Make connections between the words and the meanings. Be sure to look at prefixes and see how that aids your understanding of the words. For example; you know that a bicycle has 2 wheels because of bi and a tricycle has 3 because of tri. What is in the words that actually helps you to understand them? It may take a minute to analyze them, but in the end you will actually remember it better.
You can find tips if this does not work for you at www.mindtools.com. Good luck!

I had to do something similar for a medical abbreviations & terminology class.
First, I made flashcards. Just the process of making the cards helps you remember. Put the word on one side and the definition on the other side. Then, I went over them several times a day for about 20 minutes. Any more than that and you lose comprehension. Switch up a bit, like first look at the word and think of the definiton or you can look at the definiton and then come up with what the word it is. Have other people quiz you. Go over it enough and you will know it backwards and forwards. Oh and don't forget! Word associations work extremely well. For instance, take the word hyperglycemia. The word means high blood sugar. In order not to confuse it with hypoglycemia, (low blood sugar) I remember that hyper means excited, high and that hypo had an o like low. I never get the two mixed up anymore.

The way that I've found easiest (when learning new languages, for instance) has always been flash cards. If you can come up with rhymes, that can help too.
Another memorization technique is the "link" or "story" method - where you create a story that links the items you want to remember. The more unusual the story, the better chance you'll remember the items within the story.
There are more tips listed at the website mentioned below. Hope that helps, best wishes!

I had to memorize all the bones and muscles in the human body, plus know the eyeball and the brain in 6 weeks: read, write them down on 3x5 cards (like flash cards), ask a friend to quiz you, make word associations (i.e., hamstrings and quads are a type of word association for muscles); there are all kinds of ways to play with the word and reduce the definition. Good luck.

Might sound boring, but I'd make up flashcards, they're effective and easy to take with you. First study them yourself, then have someone quiz you. Put word on one side, answer on the other. If you have time, write or think up how to use them in sentences.
Good luck!

the easiest way is to truly understand your concept.
its a lot of work but try to find the history behind the words u have to remember.
it not only helps with memorization but also with association.
sometimes, having a "trigger"(being a piece of seemingly useless info) will help u remember a word or concept.
