You have to take the written test which you have to take in order to get the permit before you can get your license.

You have to have your learners permit for at least 6 months before they will consider you ready to take the drivers test. In Florida I didn't get my learners permit till I was 16 had that for a year.

You can't take your drivers license test without a learners permit I don't care how old you are.

In every state there are different guidelines to this rule. I think that most states after a certain age you must take a computer test and then a driving test to prove you are able to drive. In Virginia, to be able to get your license without having a permit first you have to be 19.

It may vary by state but I'm pretty sure you have to take a class and have a learners permit before you can take a driving test.

In South Dakota you can drive, without supervision, at age 14 years, 3 months (with drivers ed) or 6 months from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

you cant take a drivers license test without getting a permit. you cant even practice driving (legally) without a permit
