A long time friend of mine still visits detox centers to remind himself of where he'll be if he goes back to using. It keeps him clean.

Most former addictions will cause the cravings once in a while for the rest of your life.
I know smokers that want a cigarette occasionally even 50 years after quitting.
That's why EVERYONE warns don't start and you'll never have to stop. The stopping will take a lifetime of willpower.
Congrats on the 2 years! Keep it going!

I know this is probably not the answer you wish to hear and I'm sorry I can't offer you any sort of solice. The urges and cravings I'm afraid never stop, but they do begin to come less often and become easier to ignore. You need to be strong and remember your reasons for stopping. It sucks now but it does get better. The important thing is not to break, lean on your friends and family it's what they are there for, don't be afraid to ask for help. I know it's easier said then done but you'll be a better person for it, goodluck to you my friend.

You're not alone.
Many of us addicts get cravings after years of being clean.
Some of us fall, and need to start all over again. It's normal.
But normal doesn't mean OK.Not in this sense.
Hopefully you have a support group.Even if it's been a long time since you've contacted them,it's OK to call on them again. That's what they're there for.Don't go thinking that they'll look down on you. They've been there too.So have I.
Stay away from the old mess you had.....whether it be friends, hangouts, whatever.KEEP YOUSELF OFF OF THE S**T!
Go to NA meetings.Look back on how much better your life has been since you quit. You could lose everything in one night!

dont listen to mister pee, my great grandparents used to smoke ciggarets, my great grand father of 80, 60 years of stoped smoking still said he gets cravings, its human, but you have the will to be against the craving, no matter what you will probably crave for the rest of your life, life is about decesions, and that is a bad one, and if you go back to it, think about how many people you would be hurting. I have friends that do drugs, it hurts their friends, and their family, it hurts me to see them die. So think about all the people who care about you. Hell i barely know you and i care about you! Just no one needs drugs, it hurts others. Just talk to someone during your craving and wait it out.
