Actually I think they should be used for genetic testing to see what the new chemical warfare weapons do to the human body.

P2P is a great idea if used for the right means. Commercially a very good idea when Broadband becomes faster and more demanding.
Scrub that!
I say long jail sentences for those spreading viruses, especially with intent to steal information. I'd prefer to deny them Internet access forever, but don't see how that is practical and a government could misuse it. Just brand someone a terrorist or something and prevent free speech.
I had one that wiped Windows completely clean. Luckily my main data I never save on C. I also have a backup drive as I have registration keys and purchased software etc. A lot to lose and never get it all back.

most people pass on viruses without knowing once they have caught the virus themselfs.
most of the time the writers aim to bring down a website with the virus (usually microsoft.com), the only other reason is usually to install a trojan and take over peoples computers to steal information.
People who are stupid enough not to use a virus scanner are the ones to blame.

i don't think having their fingers cut off or any other nasty stuff is the answer to our virus-frustrations....the roots of evil in this case cannot be cut that easily....with the anonymous-identity-user-privilege in the internet, there shall always be more and more virus up-loaders like mushrooms in the forest....they have their share of the fun doing so.....we gotta have ours by finding ways of protecting ourselves and feeling the triumph of defeating them.....after all life's not fun without the not-fun stuff...

I believe they should have thier fingers cut off so they can never type again... and their eyes plucked out so they can never view a computer screen again... and their ears popped so they can not here any kind of couputer music or sounds... and their voice boxes cut out so they can never give verbal commands to any computer program... There!! that should punish them sufficiently

What are you, related to Saddam Hussein or something? People may do that unintentionally because their own system has been infected or is being opeated by a hacker. As for hackers, that is what jail is for.

I think they should be pitied. They obviously have nothing better to do in their lives that to cause mayhem, that they can never be recognised for sinced if they make themselves public, they will be arrested!
