So many. But don't worry. If you could gain knowledge about how to control it, no problem at all. Read useful articles on diabetics at

three years ago i was diagnosed w/diabetes, 139 lbs. overweight, and labeled morbidly obese by my endocrinologist. his suggestion (which i took) was to go on a diabetic diet monitored by a licensed nutritionist, who was part of his practice. I met with her within 3 days and had a diet outlined for me that couldn't satisfy a squirrel. But i did follow it for 5 weeks, losing 20 lbs. after that i couldn't starve myself any more, so back to eating i went. the next time i visited my endocrinologist he was furious that i had gained the 20 lbs. back as well as 6 more lbs.
he put me on a couple of drugs (metformin and byetta) to curb my appetite. in the past 9 months, believe it or not, I've dropped almost 150 lbs. these two drugs do suppress your appetite. I would strongly recommend that you ask your doctor to prescribe one or both of these medications (preferably byetta).
byetta is a medicine that is injected into your stomach or upper thigh before breakfast and your main meal. doses start out at 5mg 2x's d and build up to 10mg 2x's d. I believe this drug is the better of the two for losing weight.
diabetes, as you know, is a very serious disease. i can cause many complications w/other organs/body parts. Good luck and please talk w/your doctor about byetta.

My mother became a diabetic many months ago, so i guess im somewhat near the boat. Be informed about diabetes and you CAN control it if you want to. Luckily my mother is a nurse so she knows this condition already. she's 56.
