I was 27 years old when I bought my beautiful 3BR 2BA home in a lovely subdivision. It was only $59,000, and I got a fantastic mortgage rate. My home was in Statesboro, GA. I bought it with my deadbeat exhusband. Property taxes were $450 and insurance was $225. What a deal. Those were the days. Hope this helps!

I was 23 (14 years ago.) My husband and I bought a FDIC foreclosure for $94K. In MA. It's a piece of investment property worth about $400K even in today's market - so yes, I'm happy.
Good Luck!

I was 30. I paid $58,500 by myself. West central Florida. Sold last year due to high homeowner's insurance/property taxes and salary not keeping up. Moved to SC and now own free & clear.
