Well I can see from above that you are definitely missing The Batman Chronicles volume 1 (a number of the Golden Age Batman stories in chronolgical order) I have it and it is good.

Without "The Dark Knight Returns" and "Batman: Year 1" you would not have had Tim Burton's Batman movies, the Batman Animated Series or "Batman Begins". Thank Frank Miller, otherwise the general public would still see Batman in the style of the Sixties TV series

What about Long Halloween or the newer Batman/Superman by Jim Lee...?? But I love The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller.. it was the best ever.
