We can feel the point where the two box springs come together down the midline of the mattress. Any suggestions?

Thats kinda strange. I have a king size with 2 box springs and don't feel a thing. Try making sure the box springs are even and laying flat. Is your mattress old? Maybe you need a new/thicker mattress.

Try a piece of 1/2 or 5/8 plywood over the box springs. Will give a lil extra support too

There's a small platform you can put between the two box springs that will span the crack.

YOU MIGHT TRY ONE OF THOSE FOAM TOPPERS IN BETWEEN THE MATTRESS AND THE BOX STRINGS ....EVEN THOUGH THEYRE MEANT FOR THE TOP.
