I'm not an avid tennis fan, but like many have always had a soft spot for Agassi. I was recently saddened by the recent stories of the pain that he had to endure to compete in the Open. It seems to be common knowledge about his chronic back pain, but I've been wondering if the cause of the pain has ever been addressed.
Theories are welcome, but if you have something concrete, could you please link me to it?

I believe his USTA bio said that he was rear-ended in '00 or '01.

between the back and the ankles, it was a rough year for him
