I had one moment when I turned 40 and realized that I didn't need to impress anyone but myself. I still have to remind me of that every so often but it sure felt good.

Yes, when I held my first son in my arms. After 7 years , 4 miscarriages and the death of our first child, I was told I couldn't have another, and when I got pregnant, the doctors advised a therapeutic abortion. I refused , it was pretty tough going, but I hung in there. And yes, when they handed me my son, I felt that, AHA, It's been worth it . I did it!
Two years later I did the same thing, only spent 5 months in bed, But It all made sense to me! I got my babies!

I have had a few.

I was taking Structure and Dynamics in College, after I had taken a calculus course and realized that the formulas for calculating stress and strain were derivatives of each other. Then I finally realized what the tutor meant when they said that ALL of conventional physics is based on F=ma, from E=mc squared, to the equation for velocity is that first derivative, and the equation for acceleration is the second derivative all from F=ma. But, this may be a little too much for most people.

The best Aha moment I had was when I realized that I really didn't care what other people thought of me. That gave me self-confidence and for once people started liking me for who I was. Very similar to yours, and I had my eureka moment when I was 25. It made me a much happier person and able to cope better with a disabling disease.

I had another such moment when I discovered that short little me, who no one liked in school, could be a strong leader of adults.

Yes. I don't care what other people think and I finally stopped letting my sister bully me. But I was really old by then.
