I read a book a few years ago called "Mortal Error" by one of the expert riflemen that were involved in the JFK assasination investigation. The author claimed that Pres. Kennedy was accidentally shot in the head by a Secret Service agent that was riding in the car right behind Kennedy's car. The theory: The agent heard the shot come from the building up above and he reached down and grabbed a Secret Service AR15 machine gun. He tried to stand up to aim the gun towards the sniper, but the car moved and he lost his footing. The machine gun went off- when it was pointed at JFK's head. That's why: witnesses claimed to hear different gun sounds (not backfires), JFK's head exploded the way it did, and the bullet tragectories came out all screwy in the investigation afterwords. When the Secret Service called Robert Kennedy to tell him what happened, they told him that "there has been an ACCIDENT" not that the Pres. was assasinated.
Question:Has anybody heard anything new about this theory?

The most obvious theory in the killing of JFK is not the Lone Gunman, nor the Accidental shooting. The most obvious explanation is that JFK was removed by a group made up of rogue agents of rank from the FBI, CIA, Secret Service, Military and Dallas Police. The Mafia and Anti Castro Cubans may have played a role in supplying the shooters but they didnt have the ability to
1 Perpetrate and support the cover-up
2 Change the motorcade route so that it took the detour up Huston and then down Elm putting JFK into the killing zone
3 Set up Lee Harvey Oswald as the perfect patsy
4 Make sure the Dallas Police made no record of interview with Oswald for the entire time from his arrest to shooting
5 Allow Jack Ruby into the car park with a revolver to shoot Oswald
6 Falsify the pictures of Lee Oswald with the gun in his back yard
7 Bungle the most important autopsy in history
8 Lose JFK's brain
9 Create, maintain and support the Warren Commission

There is no certainty as to who made up this secret group. The only cast iron certainty is that a single gunman didnt do it. Why am I so sure of this?.....Simple

A The magic bullet theory doesnt hold up, so there had to be at least 4 shots
B 4 shots means that there had to be at least 2 shooters
C A single gunman WOULD NOT have waited until JFK's car took the turn into Elm and was driving away from him. He would have fired on the motorcade while it was coming straight at him up Huston. Therefore having a totally clear field of fire, with JFK always in the scope.

I asked my father what he would have done if he had intended to take out JFK. His answer is very significant because he is an Ex SAS sniper.

He said he would have done 2 things
1 If he was alone and on the 5th floor He would have taken the shot at JFK on Huston NOT Elm
2 He would have used a much better rifle than Oswald is supposed to have used. That model is crap. (Oswald would have known that too and could have aquired a Ruger or Remington for not a great deal more than the Mannlicher Carcano.

The book "Mortal Error" was immediately discredited almost before the ink was dry on the first printing. There is not one shred of evidence that any secret service agent fired that day. Bonner Menninger (I believe that was the author) was floundering to come up with a new twist on a case that had already been solved for thirty years. The trajectory of the entrance did not match a shot from that angle, nor did his gun show evidence of being fired.

As of today's date all evidence, and I mean ALL evidence, points to one and only one person: Lee Harvey Oswald. There can be no scholarly debate on that point. None.

I've heard Oswald alone, Oswald and various and assorted different groups, the Russians, LBJ, Castro, the CIA, FBI, Robert Kennedy, and the Mafia but that's a new one.

I still say that someone shot him from the front, thats why his head moves back and the rear of his head explodes

it's another theory, there's plenty theories about Kennedy's death. though most of them think it's an assasination, after of all Kennedy have made plenty of enemies who would want to kill him.

The AR was not in use at the time that happened.
Most were still using the M1 and pistols.
So no I do not think this was true.

I think it is so old, there hardly can be anything new about it.

Yeah, I know there are different versions as of what exactly happened.

J.Kennedy was deeply missed by many people, that's why there are so many stories.
