If you are getting a strong signal, try swopping the channel to another one. Could be the neighbours are using the same channel frequency and causing interference.

My guess is that the wireless network can't handle the bandwidth while playing the game, if you are both on it at the same time. That's why gamers use a wired network, it's faster and more reliable. If one of you uses a wired connection and the other uses wireless, you would probably be fine. With both of you on it, you are going to run into problems. Then again, it's only as good as your service provider so do you have high speed cable or DSL? If you have DSL, I'd say that is another reason it could be crashing though less likely.
When it crashes, have you tried repairing the connection? Does the connection work okay for regular internet or does it drop no matter what. If it drops no matter what you are doing, try relocating the router, if you can. There may be metal or other obstructions in the way of the signal. If that is the case then you can get range expanders for it.
My gut feeling tells me it is most likely a problem with bandwidth, try a wired connection, even if you have to run cable 50 feet, see if that is more reliable.

It's very typical on wireless network for this to happen. Usually though, you should not have to restart your PC. You can reset your router (unplug the power cord) and that should re-establish a connection. Something else that might be causing problems is a wireless telephone. Many connect at the same MHz as a wireless router. Move the phone away from your PC and the networking equipment. That might help too.

Could be interferance. Microwaves among other household devices can disrupt the signal.
You could also try moving both wireless cards to different pci slots and reinstalling all the drivers.

You might be marginally out of range for the distance to the wireless router. If your router has removable antennas you can get a screw-on booster antenna to increase range.
