I don't know if I could ever have an abortion. The idea of it causes me great anguish yet I could not inflict my view on a friend, or otherwise, as to wether they should carry a child they were considering aborting.
However, I struggle with your terminology. There is no need for abortion in the vast number of cases (particularly when used as a form of retrospective contraception), it is about personal choice and our own ethical stand point. Nobody NEEDS abortions. There are no known medical conditions that prevent a woman from giving birth. That's nature. If it were impossible for a woman to give birth because of a medical condition, then conception wouldn't even occur. And in the case of rapes, most of the time it's such a tramatic experience that conception doesn't occur either. In cases that it does however, does an abotion take away the pain of the rape? Of course not. You still suffer from that experience. Personally I think that it would make it more tramatic. Every pragnancy has a purpose. There are no accidents or coincidences.

No matter what I wouldn't agree. I was diagnosed with uterine cancer and two days later told I was pregnant with twins. My oncologist advised I end the pregnancy as I would not be able to have treatment while pregnant. I chose to carry and went full term, the babies were fine, and I later had surgery to remove 5 cancers(it mestasitized) and now all of us are fine. You need to believe in GOD, pray to him and put your life in his hands.I did and look where it got me.

absolutely not. a child has just as much right to live as you or i. People shouldn't use abortions as a form of contraceptive. Today's society makes it look alright to have sex with anyone. Where has the world gone? Why can't people just keep their pants on and get married???
