Depends on what you are looking for, and what platform you wanna work with.

Be warned: the Palm loyalist will tell you to get a Palm, and the Pocket PC folks swear by their stuff, so you have to do independent research.

One fact that is indisputable: Palm holds the edge in terms of third party software. So, you'll find plenty of free- and shareware for your PDA if you go the Palm route. A lot of these titles are simply not available for Pocket PC.

Figure out your price range, then get an idea of what type of features you want. Then find PDAs (both brands) that match.

Also, read reviews for the shortlisted ones.

Best wishes!

It depends what you plan to use the PDA for. If you just want a basic PDA that allows you to store contact information, calendar events, To-Do list, and take basic notes, than the Palm Z22 is a very good PDA for about $99 at most retail stores.

If you plan to do some Web surfing, getting e-mail, instant messaging, and even watch DVDs, I would recommend either the Palm Tungsten T/X or the Palm Life Drive.

Palm Tungsten T/X (MSRP $299)

Palm LifeDrive (MSRP $399)

The units are similar in features (though different in look). However, the Palm LifeDrive has a 4 GB hard drive where you can store photos, documents, even DVD movies (with special software). The LifeDrive also has a built-in Bluetooth and built-in WiFi (for Internet connectivity at HotSpots). The Life Drive also has a built-in voice recorder. Both have gorgeous large screens, and are great PDA.

If you plan to use the PDA to take notes, I would highly recommend getting a wireless keyboard.

No matter which Palm PDA you choose, Palm is known for its easy-to-use, powerful handhelds.

I really like my Hewlett Packard Mobile Media Companion rx3100 series, but HP has since discontinued it.

I like the Dell Axim handhelds, and the PalmOne models look pretty good too. The PalmOne LifeDrive has plenty of memory and space for movies, music, pictures, documents, and so on and so forth.

i ought to say the Tungsten E (or E2) or Z22 depending upon what you want. I strongly recommend the E, because all more moderen palms freeze for an same reason: applications do not extremely like the recent separate RAM and application storage (flash) memory all more moderen palms have. to resolve this, load the classes that crash onto the SD card. Oh, and in case you employ LJP, that is experimental and generates stress on your Palm's CPU, so it continuously crashes, yet would not reason reboot loops.

one simple answer. go for the Imate-K Jam.
it wont work with 3rd party software- besides it is risky to download such stuff... may contain virus. The K Jam is good in that it contains all the accessories u need...u name it they`ve got it...and its compact. it uses the windows mobile operating system and is easy to use. good processor speed and everything else thrown in.
