I would say she has an infection as the tonsils are sort of a barrier to keep infections from reaching the brain. Don't monkey around with her health playing doctor with people or pictures on line. Take her to a doctor and if short on cash, have the MD bill you or take her to the ER(saying she is in pain so they will see her) and they will have to see her and bill you later. You can then pay a little at a time until it's paid off if needed but for goodness sake, take her to get care. She need not be in pain for it to be serious.

Maybe her lymph nodes or her tonsils. On Yahoo run 'swollen tonsils' through the Images search engine.
Here are a few of those pictures available:

Take her to her doctor as soon as you can. It sounds very much like swollen lymph nodes, which is caused by an infection. If it is indeed making the opening smaller or if she complains that her throat is tight or it is hard to breath, take her to the ER.
You don't want to mess around with stuff like this, even if it just turns out to be a simple infection that is treatable with antibotics. If you can't breathe, nothing else matters.

Could be 2 things , either thyroid , or wisdom teeth reacting,
Get your daughter to salt water rinsing and listerine.
Could be tonsils, but tonsils are your immune system, and u shouldnt have them removed unless absolutely necessary.

it could be infections but I would not mess around with looking on the internet I would get her to a doctor or maybe an emergency room right away. It could even be something very serious. Better safe and get if checked out right away. Anytime something is where there is not supposed to be you better go to the doctor real quick. You dont want to risk her life.

If they are whitish in color then there is hard pus on the tonsils. This is nothing to be fearful of, her body is fighting off an infection. They will fall off and she will hopefully fight off the invader. Thank goodness our bodies have defense mechanisms. I couldn't find any good images on the Internet for you to see.
