Just wondering if anyone has any tips on getting my baby to sleep better. I did not know if having a fan in the room would help. He is 4 1/2 months and everybody keeps telling me it will get better, but I am beginning to doubt this. I am tired and don't know what to do. Please help.

My child does not sleep good day or night. If I put him down full but drowsy, he wakes up and cries. If I put him down fully asleep, as soon as he is put in his crib he starts screaming. I don't really want to let him cry it out, but I can't hold him 24/7.

Schedule and time! Keep him/her on schedule and don't let nap be to long in the evening if they aren't sleeping during the night. Make sure to keep them awake for a few hours and fill them up before putting them down for the night. It will get better and it would help you to maybe have your husband or grandma take the baby shift once in a while so that you can rest or take sometime to rejuvenate and in will get better! I don't think the fan will help and I know the schedule will. Keep the same ritual and the baby will get used to it and again make sure the baby is full and you can even sign and rock right before bedtime. Good luck!

You need to clarify WHEN you want your baby to sleep better. At night, for naps...what? There are different solutions to both.
People are telling you to put a fan in his room to make white noise for him, but I would not do this, if he wakes up a lot during naps, I would put it outside his room, unless you can keep the air off of him. It's just the noise you would need, not the breeze.

Elaborate more on when you are having trouble, i'd like to help!

hi!
my daughter is 7 months old and she has never slept thru the night yet (im getting some really pretty bags under my eyes, lol!)
she still wakes up about 4 times a night...no kidding! she only takes about 3 tiny naps during the day and she is on a routine starting at 8:30pm (baby food, bath, then i nurse her) and she still wakes up thru the night. but, my first daughter started sleeping all night at 6 weeks (wow!)
so, all babies are different and do things in their own pace.
just give it time and your little one will be sleeping all night and mine will also.

set up a routine...

Around 6pm I give my baby a bath, milk and then he goes to sleep by himself.
