My hubby dared me to eat a hobanero pepper once. It burned my mouth so bad, that I had a blister on the roof of my mouth. No lie. I wanted to die. That really hurt. The tears came and the snot poured. He laughed his a** off. He still picks at me about it. That's what I get for taking a dare.

In Long Beach, at the shops along side the Queen Mary docks, there is a little shop that specializes in sauces that combust on the pallate.
From there I picked up a bottle of Sudden Death habanero hotsauce. The bottle lasted a year, and I got to keep the wood skull/keychain attached to the neck of the bottle.

The hottest thing I have eaten was some chili I made. I used to buy my spices bulk from a natural foods store and I "thought" I was putting chili powder into my chili. If you've ever made chili you know you put several tablespoons of it into your sauce. Well, what I was actually putting into my chili was CAYANNE powder and it made the hottest, but tastiest, darned chili....it was too good not to eat, but ......well.....they say life isn't like bowl of cherries. Its more like a jar of Jalapenos....what you eat today will bite you in the a s s tomorrow. We were all in a world of hurt the next day. Unfortunately, we only had one bathroom so it was literally a tag team kind of thing.
Ack.
Goddess Bless everyone who has gotten blisters on their tongue or lips from a pepper. Yowza!

hey i know someone who got her name on that wall! (she's a boxer, can't say who) She said the secret is not to chew them much. The hottest thing I ever had was this teeny tiny (like 1/4 inch long) red pepper on my friends *house plant*. She told me they were good so i bit into one and had blisters all over my tongue and lips. Never did find out what kind they are but i spent a half hour with my tongue in a container of ice cream....

Habanero peppers. They are available raw in supermarkets or cooked into very hot chili or in a mustard with a name like HellFire mustard

some kind of kebab out of the local Indian restaurant, was like eating molten lava, the trick was to eat it before the pitta bread dissolved!

Aw, thanks for sharing! My hubby likes to make enchiladas and while they are usually pretty amazing, he made them way too spicy one night and I became something like a reverse water fountain....couldn't drink enough water....
