Im sorry I mean the general definition of the "american dream" to move up in class. The idea of doing better and having more than your parents had.

yes but it's harder than ever for people now, unless you grow up with up. someone born into poverty will have a harder time getting it than someone whose parents are home owners. yes, there are always exceptions and people work hard or make bad decisions, but the american dream is very elusive for lots of people.

First, the american dream has to be defined. If the american dream is to own a piece of the land with your house, I would say yes. That is still within grasp for me and for many other individuals. If the american dream is to get rich quick and avoid taxes either illegally or supporting tax cuts that mainly benefit the very rich, which you one day hope to become, that would be a resounding NO.

Yes, I feel that I have a very good chance at working up through my company far enough that I'll be able to set aside enough money to start my own business, and have it make money while I lounge poolside.

The American dream will ultimately damage the environment, and civilisation will collapse.
Enjoy your dream?

Personally, no. I'm just getting along, paying taxes, and earning degrees until my time on this rock is done and I get to leave.
