No 16 year old (or anyone, really) should be taking suppliments. They are a billion dollar a year sham business built on capitalizing on the fears and false hopes of the insecure. You should be eating a healthy, nutritous diet, and you'll get everything your body needs.

If you are talking about dietary supplements, forget them -- they are a waste of money. Just eat a variety of healthful foods (lots of fruit and vegetables), and keep an eye on your weight.
