Why ride the bus when you can fly for like $30 - 40??? There are specials on flights to Vegas all the time.

greyhound like what the others said, but you can also try contacting Youth Hostels around san diego (one in Pacific Beach called Banana Bungalows and theres a hostel in Ocean Beach)because a lot of people there rent cars together and drive out there sharing fuel and rental costs. Some might be happy just sharing fuel costs.
Other method is to try Craigslist.com. Seach in san diego, the rideshare section.
Hope these help!

Greyhound.com...oh, and I don't know what Dave is talking about...I fly to Vegas every couple of months and the plane tickets have never been $30-$40...it's always at least $130-$180 round trip.
