Besides your family, friends, etc. and money, what object do you own that you covet the most? And I mean something with a story behind it, or a reason why you cherish this thing, not like your blanket because it keeps you warm.

My best friend for 30 years wore her diamond earring studs ALL the time. They were a gift from her husband. My friend was told she had cancer and in less than three months she was gone. Her husband gave me her earrings a month before HE died (of a broken heart I suspect). I wear them now. When ever I miss them, all I have to do is reach up and touch them. Outsiders just think I'm checking to see if they're still on my ears, but I'm really talking to my friends in my heart.

My engagement ring and wedding band set.
When my now husband asked my parents if he could marry me, my mother gave him HER engagement ring and told him to take it apart and use it for me. He had a beautiful solitaire created and a wedding band with 11 diamonds in it. It was one of the most unselfish things that she ever did for me. And now that she is deceased I realize what a gift of love it was.

my grandmas necklace.
she used to wear it all the time when i was little and in '05 she died of lung cancer and i really wanted that necklace of hers and it is a heart with her birthstone in it and i will cherish it always.
before she died she said she wore that necklace when i was born and she always wore it to church and when i'd be in the hospital she'd wear it there every time. i really miss her but with her necklace around my neck, i'll always know she'll be watching me from above as long she stays close to my heart. i miss her alot but i always know shes near when i wear her necklace.
