Hmmmmmm, i've always found that if you have his equipment in your mouth, you have his attention. Seriously, timing is important - pick a time to talk to him when you can eliminate or control any possible distractions, make sure he knows this is important, and go for it. If it works, you know what to do in the future, if it doesn't, lose the jerk and find someone that will appreciate you.

You need to tell him to listen to you or there will be consequences. If he doesn't want to help out around the house, or with the kids, or cook, or clean.. then it's time for counseling. Tell him that you can't do everything by yourself. A relationship is a two way street and if he is just not listening then it is his own fault if things don't go his way.

Are you talking to him. or you talking at him. Big difference If you are one of those people that talks all the time maybe he has just tuned you out like freeway noise.I suggest you tell him you have something important he needs to hear, and then tell him , Also if this about getting him to do chores or something around the house . Try and look at this from his point of view. If he doesn't hear it he doesn't have to do it.

Go to the local fish mongers.
Buy the biggest Halibut he has in stock.
Return home and unwrap.
Walk quietly up to hubby while he is watching football, making sure to remain undetected.
Swing Halibut around head and smack him round the chops with it.
Trust me. After this he will hear you.

That just depends on what you are trying to tell him. Timing is very important a long with the place. You can not try and tell him anything important when he is say watching football. You can also try appealing to his senses. That can also be very helpful at times

just do what you want to do in the first place. get someone to watch the kids, or take a day off and do what YOU want to do, he'll see that you are serious and maybe that will wake him up?

Stop the gravey train. When he comes to eat and nothing is there he will see something is wrong. No talk = no food.
