How has slavery influenced the evolution of both black and white americans today?

Yes, because of slavery and the fight for civil rights all have freedom here that they would not normally have else where. Other countries today most give freedom to certain people but here all has freedom even if it came at the expense of millions and hundreds of years to achieve.

I don't believe there has been much physical evolution apparent in the last 100,000 years, but on a very very very small scale, I'd say that slavery indirectly allowed for the mixure of different gene pools with the rape of slave women by their masters. If you mean social evolution influenced by slavery, I could write a text book called "Race Relations in America Over the Past 100 Years."

It should not have affected anybody that is living right now. No body that is alive now owned or was a slave. Now if you want to know if Oppression has affected the black and white race then there would be a different answer.

WELL, some black folk think that white folk today r jacked up because of wat they ancestors did to their ancestors. everytime i go to school and learn a new subject, its always about white folk. like we got this one class called british something. now y in the hell would i want to learn about white folk, when i live wit em?? y dont they have a class called african or watnot??? slavery or those olden days just pushes me to better myself and get an education...so i guess it helped me in a positive way. It hasn't . People who want a better life for themselves and their children regardless of their race will try to make it . Others regardless of their race have given up and want to be taken care of.
