The people in Liverpool are on the whole very friendly and will usually chat away to you without much encouragement. There is a tendency to tell it like it is especially amongst the older inhabitants. There are a few bad eggs as there is in all places. The reputation for crime in Liverpool is unjustified and stems from a period of severe depression within the city. Those days are long behind us. We are a nice bunch.

Melissa, how many degrees do you have? More than a scouser like me? I think not.

The people are great. The only problem is that we have a reputation from the 80s TV programme Harry Enfield and a lot of outsiders believe The Scousers Scene accounts to every Liverpudlian even though it is untrue

Being as scouser myself, i think we are very friendly, helpful people. Straight talking and fiesty. But......like any other place we have our fair share of nob heads. So word from the wise, if your visiting our 'sound' city take care of yourself as you would in any other place that you are not familiar with....
