I want to make a birthday gift for my 5 year old brother. He loves dinosaurs and power rangers and all that boyish stuff. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

My little brother used to love the "peep shows" or dioramas I made him. The one featuring dinosaurs was his favorite. I took a shoe box and cut an eye hole at one of the long ends. For scenery, I drew trees and mountains and lakes on a long strip of paper that wrapped around the inside of the box. Now you can probably download more realistic looking scenery from your computer. Then I bought a package of toy dinosaurs and arranged them on the floof of the box. I glued a few bits of grass to the bottom also for texture and realism. Then I wrapped light blue tissue paper over the top to allow for light to illuminate the diorama. I made him at least a dozen of these and he was always intrigued. 5 year olds,thank goodness, aren't too hard to please.

May I suggest just buying some toy dinosaurs? Anything homemade is likely to be destroyed by a 5 year old- good luck!
