i have a bunch of pine combs from my vacation at south dakota and want to grow the trees they came from.need advice on what to do to get them to grow.

thay need to be heated in the oven to pop the seeds then germanate them in water till thay sprout it a lot of work you might want to buy a pine tree insted

You dont want pine trees.
In the winter if you have Ice they are the first thing that break.
They grow fast and they have to be topped.
Unless you just need a massive amount of pine cones, and pine needles find another tree to plant.

A ground cover called snow on the mountain or dead nettle would grow well there. Add some composted manure to the soil and rake it in. it may take a couple of seasons for the plants to become established, but they grow wonderfully under my pines. English ivy is another option, but you must be vigilant about keeping it from climbing up the trees. perriwinkle is another you can try.

Your pine cone has to have the seeds within it to grow a tree...Shake the seeds out, if it is ripe enough..Fix a mixture of potting soil, peat moss, and perlite, with a little sand...Put the seed in and water...See if it grows...Keep it moist until you see the sprout...Then water when dry...

NO...the pine cones need to dry out alittle....then you throw them in a open fire. ...that's how they propagate. the fire cracks
open the shell good luck

if it has seeds in it the cone itself is not a seed but a seed pod
