1st I think this is a Jason Giambi situation. Giambi was on the juice then quit and was awful for 1.5 years. I think rebounding from heavy steroid use takes its toll and a hitter needs to take a while to adjust. 2nd he's stopped trying to hit a homerun every game to boost his stats for free agency and thus he's seeing more pitches (no its not because he wants his team in the playoffs). 3rd, I think pitchers may not be taking him a seriously as they once were and thus you are seeing him hit bad pitches.

Actually, he hasn't. He homered Sept 2 once. In the two games at Atlanta, he didn't homer. However, he did homer twice in the first game at Atlanta.
