I just figger peeple who rite Q's like ur Q want answers fr others hu rite that way 2.
Furthermore, people who write interesting, intellectual questions want responses only from others who are interested in intellectual pursuits and will phrase their answers in writerly prose.
It's a new segregation!
It's also a wave of the future (thanks to the technology of text messaging).
I for one am gonna keep at least one foot planted firmly in the past, but maybe only 1 ft.
Cuz I might wanna have a little bit of fun, sorta like you did in ur Q.

Laziness, poor education, it seems the bar has been lowered time and time again to the point where standard rules of grammar no longer apply.
I blame text messaging. It's all about shortening the message as much as possible, so people write "u" instead of "you" or "2" instead of "too". It makes sense when you want press as few buttons as possible to get your message across, but in other mediums besides text messaging, this sort of writing just makes the writer appear undereducated and lazy. And that's not the best impression to put forth when your words are all people have to judge you on.

I totally agree with some of your answers. Only thirteen year-olds want to sound like their thirteen.
Maybe it's just a matter of being old enough to have written a letter before writing an email, but maybe their should be a grass roots movement to get rid of this stupid shorthand on the web.

I like your humour!
English is not my native language and I always check my spelling!
I don't know why people want to resort to chat lingo on this yahoo service ... This site is used by lots of people coming from lots of countries, so we all should make at least some effort to write correct English!

I believe that alot of posters on this site are from countries where English is not their first language. It is good English practice to post and read English on this site.

Most people on here are (a) young and poorly educated, (b) too lazy to use a spell checker, or (c) under the false impression that non-standard spelling makes them seem cool.

Some people don't come from English speaking countries, so its understandable.
Others are just doing it on intention.

i'm with you there. you don't have to be e.b. white elements of style perfect, but at least take a crack at making it comprehensible.
