I just got invited to homecoming by a friend, and I accepted. However, the school I go to never had homecoming, so I have no idea what to do, wear, what will happen, etc. Could someone please help me?! I only have two weeks.

Your best bet is to ask your friend what their homecoming is like. It can be very different in different places. My school never had a dance, just a weekend full of sports games. If you were invited to a dance, you need to find out how formal it is.

If you've ever been to a dance, that's what homecoming is like. I don't know if you are in 9th or 10th grade, so you might have only experienced middle school dances. A lot of people (girls really) go to homecoming with just their friends, not dates. But usually everyone dances with guys, because there are always some guys who don't bring dates (and no, they aren't the ugly ones).

If you've only ever been to middle school dances, or even just 9th grade, you should know that Homecoming is a lot more fancy. For your earlier dances maybe you wore some short skirt and a cute top. For homecoming, a dress is needed. And it should be pretty Fancy. For example, my sister wore a red wrap around dress, not a halter though.

If you've only ever been to middle school dances or some such, then you'd know there were chaperones. There will still be chaperones at this dance, they just really won't care.

Be sure to wear somewhat comfortable shoes. Slow dances only take up a short amount of the time, so you're going to be doing dances that are a lot harder on your feet than that. A lot of girls at my school come in really cute heels and then just go around bare foot (it's really, really clean).

For specific details of how it is at your school, ask your friend.

You should casually ask a freind what they are waring so you can get a good idea of what kind of clothing is going to be worn. Homecomings are formal dances. And girls usually do their hair up fancy, get their nails done and have fun dressing up.
Try this link: It has formal dresses for events like that. If you dont like the dresses on the first page dont worry there are 6 pages.

First of all - findsomeone in the school you are going to the dance at that can give you some suggestions. Double dating would be a good alternative

It is like a prom but a little less dressy, also all grades can go.
