I do get emails, but they are usually people who don't like my answer. I have one person who is so obsessed with me now she keeps writing and telling me not to respond (but I do). The point is, you send an email, you are inviting a reply. The fact is, I have forgotten all about her in between her rants, but she apparently holds a serious grudge and "stalks" my use of Answers and puts a thumbs-down on everything I post and then emails me to lash out again. I think therapy is in order.

My point is that this is a public forum and if you are afraid to say it in public, maybe you shouldn't say it. The reason emails are available is because people are willing to go off-board over an issue, but I definitely do not think that should be the norm. My address is available just to lend credibility as a "non-phantom" and nothing else. I don't care for emails.

Oh, and there are a few people who have mistaken Yahoo Answers for Yahoo Personals. To them, life is too short to **** stoopid people. Your approach works against you. To Yahoo, why isn't there a link in these emails to report when they are abusive of the system as there is for questions and answers? Another major oversight from the site creators.

Um...because Yahoo answers is set up so I don't have to give strangers my email.

You may be a perfectly nice guy...but I don't want ANY more spam than I already get.

Really all you spammers out there...I do NOT need a bigger p*nis. Mostly because being female I don't have one. (And as a married woman I can assure you the one I have access to is working just fine for me thanks!)

I am not going to send you money to help you settle your Nigerian Auntie's million dollar estate.

I am not interested in any free stock tips. My investments are currently performing quite well without your help.

I am not buying a Rolex from you over the Internet.

Basically that is why I prefer to keep my email as private as possible.

Happy Labor Day!

Hello!! :o) You must be new at this!! At one time - I had the 'guts' to include my email address whenever I responded to 'open forum' message boards like Yahoo Answers. But I soon learned to regret it. The amount of spam I got skyrocketed. And the majority of the other emails were insults and/or rants. The last straw was when someone [who quite obviously did NOT agree with my OPINION] sent me several two word emails. They simply typed out 'F**k' and 'You' about 100 times. I appreciate the time and effort they invested in creating such emails - but I didn't appreciate the message. That said - I understand WHY you think it would be appropriate to afford someone the opportunity to respond directly to someone who has 'answered' your question - but it's just not worth the risk. Craig!! :o)

I answer the questions that interest or amuse me but that doesn't mean that I want to enter into a dialogue with the person who posed the question.

If you're looking for someone to exchange emails with then this is probably the wrong place to start.

Thanks for the two points by the way.

Because I am very selective as to who I want to have my email. It is a private thing. Dont you sometimes want some things private?
