how can i get earth 2140 to play on windows xp?

have tried dosbox all i get is a black screen.
any help would be awesome!

Works fine on mine, I went into all programs, made a new folder, called 2140, then went into that folder and made a new folder with earth 2140 as it's name, then downloaded the game, opened the folder and started it on the .exe file start.
