Your body may need time to grow into itself.... For me, I found that strenuous manual labor made me gain weight and muscle. You have to ask what kind of weight you want to gain and why? Drinking to excess will also make you gain weight, extremely unhealthy though, so don't. Perhaps a protein or soy additive would be beneficial for you along with increased strenuous lifting. If you haven't had a physical recently, I would advise that you see your doctor before starting any exercise regimen.

Depends what you're trying to do ...

If you're too thin and just want to gain weight, eat a healthy balanced diet, including good mono-unsaturated fats like olive oil, avocados and nuts.

If you're trying to add muscle, you'll need to exercise and eat good sources of protein, like fish, lean meats fatfree milk and nuts.
