2 cups = 1 pint
2 pints = 1 quart
4 quarts = 1 gallon
2 x 4 = 8 so 8 pints in one gallon and 8 x 2 = 16 so 16 cups in one gallon

There are 4 pints in a gallon.
1 pint= 16oz
16 oz x 4= 64 oz which is 1 gallon.
2 Quarts=32 oz x2 = 64 oz which is 1 gallon
64 oz= gallon
