First off, I do not think that abortion is a good thing, however, I feel a woman's rights to her own body supercede some people's religious convictions. It is something that I would never do personally, but I have had friends that have made that choice, and it was a very difficult one for them to make...and I am not someone who is going to condemn them(but I did offer alternatives)--that is not my job or my place.
The truth is, birth control is not as readily available as some people would want you to believe, and it is pricey--I get mine through Planned Parenthood (b/c my health insurance does not cover it) and it costs me almost $40/month...up $15 than 3 years ago! Now, I know a baby is a lot more expensive than that, and I know that isn't a lot of $$ to some people--but I am a fulltime college student, and every penny counts. I am lucky that there is a PP in my city--lots of cities do not have them b/c of various reasons--I live in a liberal city and there were still lots of protests trying to prevent it's opening. PP is not just a place to get abortions, it offers lower cost pregnancy prevention solutions to women.
Prevention and sex education is key, but lots of religous folks would rather neither of those occur. People should not deny that people have sex, even young teens--even young teens from religous families. The denial of our sexual side is only hindering real solutions to the "supply" side of abortions. So, no, I don't think it is a good thing, but birth control should be cheaper and more widely available and sex education (perhaps segregated by sex or individual meetings w/ the school nurse) should become routine....until these things occur, abortions will always be an issue.

I live in California. Back in (what) 60-70s the abortion issue really hit the news. Teen age girls were dieing and bleeding to death because of of coat hanger abortions or poisoning, some with ruptured spleens and so on. I voted for that bill to protect the youth in a crisis problem.
MY VIEW today the law is abused, misused for birth control rather than the solution to a dilemma.

If by "pregnancy termination" you mean "abortion"... I think it's wrong. Why, when someone murders a pregnant woman, does it cound as TWO murders, but when someone gets an abortion and kills a living being with a heartbeat and mind, it counts for nothing.
If you don't want the child, give it up for adoption. There are plenty of families who can't have children of their own and would love to have yours.
Yes, there are cases such as rape or incest where I think it would be understandable and okay to get an abortion.

I'm pro choice and I think a woman has the right to do what she wants with her body. Instead of doing the whole pro-choice or pro-life thing, people should raise awareness about bearthcontrol: condoms, the pill, morning after pill, etc.
Cases vary from person to person and it would be wrong to just wipe it out altogether... there could be rape, incesty, etc. Well, then there are the types of girls who love sex and don't use protection... I think abortion should be the last resort.
1st resort: birth control
2nd resort: morning after pill
3rd resort: adoption
4th resort: abortion

Well I think it's wrong. That's why condoms were invented.... TO PROTECT. Secondly by using birth pills, you're contaminating you're body making it difficult to get pregnant at a certain age since they've been filling their body up with chemicals and stuff. Thirdly, females that abort also tend to have problems getting pregnant later on in life. Personally that's just my opinion from my perspective.

I had an abortion at the age of 18, I never thought it was wrong 40 years ago. Now I feel the choice should be made only with the proper counseling. I regret my choice now, and have for years. Times are different now.

depending on the circumstances i did when i was 15 i was made to have a termination by my parents and i have regretted it from that day i think if you are going to have one it should be your own deccision and not the decission of anyone else as at the time it may seem the logical thing to do but beleive me it stays with you for life !

Working as a nurse I have the right to refuse in assisting in VIPs voluntary interruption of pregnancy. i believe life begins that moment of conception. Miscarriages are in the hands of God and that is very difficult for me to see this tiny child sometimes smaller than my thumb, dead. When one sees that it is difficult to see someone go through an VIP. I will never do it.

It is murder, pure and simple, no matter what fancy terms one uses to hide the fact. I suggest that you have a look on the web for photos of aborted babies, some of whom could have survived if delivered alive.

If it all possible I think a woman should consider adoption. There are so many good people in this world who cant conceive.
