In our area we have kerbside collections of paper, glass and cans but there are also recycling centres in some supermarket carparks where we can take our plastic bottles, tubs and milk cartons etc. The downside is that in the summertime we only get our household bin emptied evey other week because the garden waste bin is emptied on alternate weeks. We put our plastic carriers in our household rubbish as .like you say the councils haven't found any other place for them yet.
