I can remember it vividly, and also remember the shocked look on my mom's face when I turned up at home at 10:30 a.m. because I thought school was over for the day. No one told me we had to go back to the classroom after recess....
Give your daughter a special hug, and tell her she is about to start on a big adventure, because there are so many wonderful things she can learn.

I can remember my first day of school and how nervous and excited I was all at the same time.My mom brought me to school and I even remember that I was wearing a plaid skirt. I was so proud of myself the first week when I realized that I could read very quickly. One of my favourite things that I remember from school was playing with this very old doll house that had been at the school for at least 30 years before. Gosh this is a 35 year old memory but I can smell chalk dust again.

I really enjoyed my first day of school. I have a favourite memory of high school and that was my huge crush on my music teacher. Lovely memory!
Good luck for your daughter tomorrow.

Can't Remember my first day at school but my best day at school was actually my last day at school. Does that resolve some of your issues? Not because I'm mentally or academically challenged. Did 12 GCSEs with straight As and A*s did fantastically in A-levels with 100% in some of my modules. I guess teachers don't make lessons as stimulating as they could be. I ended up going down the education route alone working through most lessons independently at home.
Hope her school is slightly better.

I was panic-stricken at the last moment and hung on to my mom so hard I think she became embarassed. I was wailing big-time. The odd thing was that I had spent a year in pre-school, where I had been fine.
Let's see, a good memory from elementary school would be at Halloween, when we marched around the outside of the school in our costumes, and sometimes neighbors would come out on their porches to smile at us. Being outside during a school day was ALWAYS a big deal anyway!
Good luck with your daughter, act calm and nonchalant about it and she'll be fine, I'll bet.

I am 56. My first day at nursery school I cried as I left because every morning I watched "Mr Rivets," a robot
(man in a suit) that I loved to see. I would like to see the show right now!

I remember mine! My favourite memory would have to be at work experience (technically school), where I met the best looking girl I've ever seen. Pretty self-explanatory as to why it's my best memory.

I remember that I cried at first but by the end of the day I didn't want to leave. So I cried when I got there and then again when I left!
