i hav had this printer since like 98 or 99 how much longer should i keep it for or should i just pitch it and get a new one if so what printer should i get to replace this one it should be fast and hav good print quality

funny you should ask that question..I just replaced one due to the fact the band that moves the printhead broke...I am from the school of if it aint broke and it works then use it...if its doing the job you need and as well as you want then save the money...mine lasted almost 7 years btw...but if yours is making noise or prints terrible buy a new printer

As long as u keep replacing the ink cartridges I really don't see why it should stop working at all.. In my opinion unless there is a power surge or some other external cause the printer can last pretty much forever..

Upgrade man, u can get a better printer now than it would cost you to refill the ink on your old one. and the new one comes with ink!
