I went to texas depart. human services friday 09/01/2006 to apply for emergency foodstamps was approved they told me my benfits would be on lone star card in 24 hours, it's now Sunday evening my benfits or still not on lone star card I have two kids and no food they didn't give me my case number so I can't find out what's going on the office is closed I believe the'll be closed through the holiday also I don't know what to do.

Hi: I am unsure whether you live in Texas. However, there are local food banks in each major city. So, I would try a search either online or via the phone book for "food banks." In addition, there may be local churches or community centers in your area that have food pantries on select days for individuals and families. Good luck!

Call a church! It is Sunday evening and they may have a food bank or be willing to take up a love offering for you. Look in the phone book for church directories. Also, maybe a friend or family member could help you. I am not sure what happened for you to need emergency food stamps, but if it was something detrimental then Wal-Mart or Kroger may help.

Check at a church in your area. After this emergency take control of your life and stop expecting a free hand out from hard working people that have taken control of their lives and paid into the system that you are parasitically attached to. The world doesn't owe you a living.

There must be a food bank in your area. Try your church to see if they can refer you. If nothing else works, march your kids down to a food kitchen. You can't let them go hungry just because you're too ashamed to let anyone know you got yourself in this condition.
Is there not ANY family you can fall back on for food alone?
