I responded to an ad on tv where they would "send you payment by return mail" for sending in pieces of scrap gold that you may have around the house. They sent me the pre-paid envelope and I sent them a few pieces of broken jewelry and have not heard from them since. Have any of you had similar experiences? I guess I will have to chalk it up to "live and learn."

No, I never have heard of that. Do you have their name, telephone # and mailing address? Call first, then if they do not respond, turn them into your State's Attorney General. They have a fraud division.

Next time just look for someone local who buys scrap gold. You can look on Yahoo Yellow Pages.

It does look shady to declare the least. If I had some broken or undesirable gold rings i could take it to a place that sells and buys gold, have them weigh it furnish me a value and then comply with the sale. My suspicion is that those mail in adult males deliver you a low ball quantity of money and powerful good fortune in case you do not trust the effect.

Yes, I have seen that TV ad. What they don't tell you is how much they will pay for the gold. Would you give a stranger a car and then they give you $100 for the car a week later?

Naw, I would rather pawn it or find a place locally to sell it off to.
