I was 46 when I graduated from university. Don't worry about it. Remember that you'll have more life skills than most of you fellow students and you'll take it more seriously. Congratulations on making an investment in your most valuable asset: yourself.

I started college at 19 and went part time until recently so techinically I am a second year freshman at 22 who plans on graduating in 2010 with my B.S in Elementary Education. Depending on the school you go to, you may feel older than you classmates or even younger. College would not have been the same for me if I went when I was 18. I am a lot more mature so it is a much better experience for me:) Job availability and types of jobs in a certain field are always changing but you can look that information up on the internet or have a professor direct you to some reputable sources.

Once you graduate, your age won't matter because it will be so close to 21 or 22 anyway. By the way, congratulations on making a wonderful decision for your life. I hope you do really well and graduate with honors!

I'm 21 and starting college too and when I went to sign for my OSAP, I was the youngest person in line. And yes, jobs will still consider you and may even find you a better applicant because you are older and they may find you to be more mature. Good luck in your program.

You won't even be close to average age at college. One year at U of Houston the avg age was 27. This just gives you the opportunity to be way cooler than most freshmen.

It's never too late to go back to school and enrich your knowledge. You learn something everyday. There's nothing to be ashamed of. Many people are in the same shoes as you are. I know of a person who is 49 and is going back to college!
