The movie Poltergeist is BASED on a true indident. But Hollywood embellished the living daylights out of it and, yes, the characters names were changed to protect those who were involved in the real thing.

I know alot of trees that rip into children's rooms and try to eat them, don't you? Or clowns that come to life and pull kids under the bed. I think they sell them at Wal-Mart. Of course it's made up, and so is the "story" you read on that ghost website.

first they say it's all true, then they make a big deal about it being all "made up." then there are the die hard believers (of this particular occurance) who swear it happened exactly as presented to the public, in it's entirety. who knows. things similiar to this happen, but who knows.

It never existed. Go see 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' though. Apaprently, this girl really was a christian fanatic, and it's scary to watch how far she went.
