Facts about the terror threat?

Question

In the world of media hype it's hard to distinguish fact from sensationalism. To help me can anyone answer the following questions:
Since 9/11:
+ Have terrorist attacks world wide increased or decreased?
+ In the UK and/or US, how many media stories have there been about terrorist plots?
+ How many people have been actually charged with terrorist offences? (not including animal lib or NI terrorism)
+ How many people have actually been found guilty?
+ How many were serious threats (i.e. sentences more than 10 years)?
+ How many stories have appeared showing people being release from custody without charge?

The rate at which terror attacks are reported has increased, as attention has been focused on them. The actual rate of attacks has remained consistent and proportional with the world population.

Most of the people held in the US as terrorists were never prosecuted on terrorist charges. The few that were eventually charged or prosecuted were on unrelated charges.

Very few of the releases have been reported, and most of them have been spun to indicate that the govt made a mistake, because "what else could these people possibly be doing..."

Terrorist attacks are on the increase. I do not remember the exact number of reports but less than is in Australian news or Canadian news. Hundreds of people have been charged and are spending a lot of time in prison. Most are sentences of life or last one was 39 years.

I'm sure they have not increased. Out of fear we will comply. It was so easy for them to brainwash everyone.
