i have a compaq armada laptop running windows 98,and it has a pcmcia slot which is used for a teac cd-rw drive but what i need to know is if i bought a network pcmcia card and used it on this laptop can i just slot it in and run the network connection wizard,or do i need to install software for it,if so that might be a problem as i will be using the pcmcia slot for the wireless card
has anyone set up a pcmcia card ,can you let me know how you install them

If you have no cd rom drive, it should be possible to go to the card manufacturers website & download the installation software onto your desktop & run the installation software from the d/loaded file.
I had to do that for a netgear wireless card for win98se for a laptop with no cd rom

install the drivers first, then fit the card and let windows find it, I have a compaq presario and have no problems.
the problem will be most cards will come with a cd rom, perhaps you could download the drivers from the internet?
