I will tell them that they cannot drive being intoxicated and drive for them and If your friend refuses then call for help. Trying to explain a lots of things may help depending on how drunk they are. Let your friend know she can be put in jail or get hurt and that it is dangerous. This should help.

I've had friends who were drunk and wanted to drive. I took their keys and drove them to my house. I gave them fluids and food and let them rest until they sobered up. I let them sleep on my couch until they could drive home safely. Is this what you wanted to know.

I would take away car keys, drive to a dunkin donuts and grab coffee for both of us and then to my friends house and stay for a bit

one time, i was over at a friends house and they started to take shots and afterwards drank beer. i didnt drink and just took the keys from them and drove them all home. its usally best NOT to call an adult unless there fighting you for the keys or someone is in danger.

I would try to get them to go to sleep. That is the easiest way to clear get them down off of the drug alcohol. Than I would try to make them see what kind of trouble they were headed for.
Above all I would try to stop them from driving evn if I had to disable their car.

Take the keys, drive him home safely, tuck him in bed.
Then take his wallet, rearrange the furniture, and set off his fire alarm.
(I'm not the greatest friend to have around)

I would take away ther keys no matter how much they fight and call an adult or just drive them home myself.
