i know there are several summer programs at colleges like Brown, Yale, Princeton, etc. for high school students to study at. does attending programs like these look good on college applications? also, if anyone has gone to one, feel free to share your experience.

I attended Princeton University by way of Junior State of America (JSA - http://www.jsa.org). I had an amazing experience. It does look good on college applications because it shows your ability to work in a college atmosphere, and also shows that you're interested in doing academic things during the summer when most kids are out tanning or sleeping in.

It wont, however, be the deal-breaker. If your grades aren't fantastic, don't rely on a program like this to get you into a college that your GPA alone wouldn't get you into.

Good luck!

i'm a U of M (Ann Arbor) student. To get into U of M mandatory requirement is the GPA. you want a minimum of three.sixty 5 GPA. Your ACT is definitely, even with the reality that i'm afraid regardless of the great achievements it truly is thoroughly no longer going that you need to get into college of Michigan (Ann Arbor). You receives into college of Michigan (Dearborn) without challenge on account that the this isn't an overly worrying college. i provided in to U of M with a 4.0 GPA, 33 ACT, 124 volunteer hours, 12 AP diverse varieties including 2 AP languages , 3 varsity wearing activities, and that i replaced right into a president in my elegance contained in the path of my junior year. it really is larger puzzling than you anticipate

Well, you can, but it doesn't look that good. Try volunteering in the summer or joining a club/activity. That will be a plus for the college application.
